Real Madrid suffered 4-0 Defeat against Madrid

Real Madrid suffered a shock 4-0 defeat against archrivals Atletico Madrid in the latest league encounter at the Vicente Calderon. This defeat has raised questions about the team’s ability to sustain their position at the top of the table. The defeat has cut their lead to just one point.

Atletico have had the upper hand over Real Madrid in the last few meetings between the two clubs. They cemented this reputation with a thrashing that will be remembered by the home supporters for a long time.

Cristiano Ronaldo missed the last few matches for the reigning European champions due to suspension, but he returned to the starting line-up for this difficult away match.

Ronaldo, however, did not have a great influence after he failed to score in the league for only the second time in the last few months. He could not add to his 28 goal tally, but more worryingly, the fact that Real Madrid conceded four goals in a league match remains a huge factor. Ronaldo says that this defeat can quickly be forgotten with a run of matches in the league and the Champions League. However, he has accepted that the club are on a superior level and should not really be conceding so many goals in a match.

“Real Madrid are better than Atlético but we have to prove it on the field. Anyway, I think we will win the title at the end of the season. Nothing worked today. It is a day to forget. Real Madrid can never lose 4-0 against any team. The team is fine, but today we made a big mistake. These were three points that we lost. No more. Not four points. We lacked enthusiasm and we were not mentally or physically fresh. There was little recovery time from Wednesday’s game [against Sevilla],” said Ronaldo.

Toni Kroos impressed with Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos says that he wants striker Cristiano Ronaldo to continue in the impressive score form he has shown for the last few months.

After a disappointing World Cup 2014, questions were asked about Ronaldo’s ability to retain the FIFA Ballon d’Or award. The 29-year-old has emphatically answering these questions with loads of goals. He has been a major factor in Madrid winning 17 matches on the bounce. The former Manchester United man took his league tally to 23 for the season after hat-trick against Celta de Vigo. Madrid won the encounter 3-0 and equalled the record set by Barcelona for the most number of consecutive victories – 18.

Even though Ronaldo failed to shine at the World Cup, he still remains as one of the favourites for the FIFA Ballon d’Or award after helping the club win the Champions League and the Copa del Rey titles last season. Madrid started the season poorly, but Ronaldo’s form has helped them open a two-point advantage over archrivals Barcelona. Ronaldo is comfortably ahead of his closest rivals like Neymar and Lionel Messi in the la Liga goalscoring chart. Seven of his goals have come from the penalty spot, but he has also opened the scoring on seven occasions.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is a really important player. He put in a very good match and was decisive once again. He’s always a key player and I hope he keeps it up.The key is to keep up this consistency. We have to keep working like this and winning games. What’s most important isn’t the record for wins, but keeping on winning every game and staying in top spot.We can’t take anything for granted. The secret is hard work, fighting spirit, togetherness and everyone showing desire,” said Kroos after his team’s latest win.

Ronaldo Could Be Due For Move BAck to United

In the past few weeks rumors started originating stating that C.Ronaldo is unhappy at Real Madrid and that a return to Old Trafford is on the horizon. The former president of Real Madrid, Ramon Calderon believes that C.Ronaldo is not happy with the policy of Florentino Perez as he has sold some of his former teammates that the Portuguese believes was a bad idea to have released including: Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria.
Angel Di Maria was the main engine behind Manchester United’s first Premier League victory when they played against Queens Park Rangers and fans of Real Madrid do not agree with the decision of having released Di Maria in order to fit in James Rodriguez, a €80 million player who still has not shown his worth.
It seems like these signings and departures are not only taking a toll out of fans of the Spanish club but it’s also affecting the players in the squad of Real Madrid as well with C.Ronaldo reportedly believed to be more and more disappointed with some of the latest decisions of Real Madrid in the transfer market.
If all of the rumors are actually true and C.Ronaldo does want to make a return to Manchester United within the next few months, this is splendid news for the fans of the Premier League club that have recently been going through so much hardship but United will have to offer the Portuguese player around €300,000 a week wages in order to keep the Ballon d’Or winner satisfied at Old Trafford and repel interest away from other clubs which might also be interested in signing him.
As we have already seen, money is not an important factor for Manchester United as they are willing to spend as much as it might be necessary in order to upgrade their squad and make the club Champions League worthy.

Ronaldo Wants More Trophies

Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that he is not happy with the amount of trophies he has won in his career so far and he wants to lift more titles in the next six or seven years. Ronaldo is currently recognised as the best footballer in the world. He holds the FIFA Ballon d’Or award, which recognises his status within the game. This is his second major accolade after having won this title when he was at Manchester United. The Portuguese star scored just three goals at the World Cup, as Portugal suffered an early exit from the competition.

This was a major blow to his hopes of proving that he is currently ahead of his main competitor Lionel Messi, who managed to win the best player of the tournament award. He seems to have put behind this disappointment after speaking in a recent event in Tokyo about his desire to win more trophies. The 29-year-old has already won several trophies in his career like Premier League, la Liga, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and Copa del Rey. Along with this, he is one of the world’s best paid players earning over £ 15 million per year just from his contract with Madrid.

He has justified this astronomical wages by scoring 252 goals in just 246 matches for Madrid. “I would like to play six or seven more years at the top level of club competitions. I’m really focused. My injury is gone. I feel very, very good. I really want to get going again and stay in good shape until the end of the season,” said Ronaldo. His inability to perform in the World Cup is largely seen as a consequence of the ankle injury that he has been suffering from in the last few months. This even forced him to miss key matches for Madrid.

Ronaldo In Good Condition

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he has had no ill effects from the appearance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final. Ronaldo was brought back to the first-team much earlier than expected since the team was also without superstar Gareth Bale. Carlo Ancelotti said ahead of the match that Ronaldo was not 100% fit yet, but he would play a part.

This proved to be the case, as the winger played for most of the match. He was replaced several minutes before the final whistle with Bale, who had been suffering from illness prior to the encounter.
Ronaldo is having a fantastic season as far as the Champions League is concerned. He is the top scored in this year’s competition with a record 14 goals. This record is also shared by Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. Ronaldo had the opportunity to go clear in terms of records, but he missed some good opportunities against Bayern. The 29-year-old, though, has stated that he will be returning in the best possible condition for the second leg at the Allianz arena. Real Madrid took a huge advantage of reaching the first Champions League final in more than four years after a 1-0 win in the first leg.
Karim Benzema scored the only goal of the game.

“Some people didn’t want me to play but I did and nothing happened. I was a little bit worried because it was my first match after three weeks but I didn’t feel any discomfort. I’ll be in perfect condition for the next games. One-nil in the semi-final of the Champions League is good and we also played well. If we score a goal there it will make it very complicated for them to go through, so I think we will score and go on to the final,” said Ronaldo.

RONALDO SEES RED

Cristiano Ronaldo was shown Red Card in the last quarter of the La Liga game between Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao which was played on Sunday. He got that punishment for hitting an opposition player on the face.

He might face a further ban too as he made a controversial gesture to one of the match officials while coming off the ground.

However, most of the people believe that Ronaldo didn’t deserve to be sent off for that act of his. It was clear that he was provoked by a couple of Bilbao players. Yes, he shouldn’t have hit anybody, but, a yellow card would have been sufficient to punish him for what he did.

Since that red card was shown to Ronaldo during a La Liga game. So, it doesn’t stop him from taking part in the matches of the other competitions. It means that the Portuguese forward would be available for Real Madrid for their next game which is a Copa Del Rey encounter against the local rivals Atletico Madrid.

However, according to the reports coming through, Real Madrid is planning to appeal against that Red Card. If that happens, Ronaldo would be free to play until the hearing takes place.

But, in case the striker is found guilty and that appeal is turned down, he might end up being banned for an excess of 3 matches. That’s because not only did he misbehave with one of his counterparts, he tried to make fun of a match official too.

Ronaldo is currently topping the list of the leading goal scorers in the Spanish top flight this season. His goal’s tally reads 22. It’s two more than the total no. of goals scored by Diego Costa who is at the second position in that list.

ALONSO INJURED

The Spanish defensive midfielder of Real Madrid Xabi Alonso picked up an injury during Real Madrid’s latest La Liga match where they managed to collect all 3 points as they defeated Valencia with a narrow scoreboard of 3-2.

Alonso received an elbow hit from Jeremy Mathieu in the 2nd half which was the primary reason that caused his injury.

‘After undergoing medical tests it has been found that Xabi Alonso has a perforated left eardrum as a result of a blow received in the match against Valencia,’ The Real Madrid medical report released online.

It is still not certain on how long it would take for the full recovery to be completed but the Spanish titans already are on a 2 week Christmas break giving the midfielder enough time to make it back in time for Real Madrid’s competitive matches that start on January 6 against Celta Vigo.

With the arrival of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid, some rumors started to emerge stating that the Argentine Angel Di Maria would leave the club as there would be no space left for him in the plans of Carlo Ancelotti but according to the former player of Benfica, he has no intentions on leaving Real Madrid.

“I knew that a €100 million player was coming and he had to play,” Di Maria told reporters.

“No I have not asked out. My head is at Real Madrid. You journalists put that I was going to Tottenham or another club. You know where these reports come out. I’m happy at Real Madrid. I never asked for a renewal. A player who does not play cannot request a renewal.”

Even with the arrival of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid, Angel Di Maria still remains being a regular starter as he has been featured in almost all of the matches for his club in this season.

BALE STEPS UP

In Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence from Real Madrid’s matches against Galatasaray and Valladolid in the Champions League and La Liga, Gareth Bale stepped it up and proved his worth by turning himself into the star of the squad.

Scoring 3 goals and providing the assist for the club’s match against Valladolid, Bale is demonstrating why Real Madrid offloaded the amount of money they did for the Welshman.

Contrary to their rivals Barcelona who failed to perform with the absence of their star player Lionel Messi, Real Madrid on the other hand has shown to be able to play without the Portuguese superstar C.Ronaldo.

The former Manchester United player is now fully recovered and is expected to play in Real Madrid’s next game which is a King’s Cup match against Olimpic de Xativa on Saturday. The Portuguese player usually sits on the sidelines on encounters such as this one but this is a great opportunity for him to get back to the sensational form he has been going through in this season and continue to rack up more goals.

Ronaldo said: “I am on good form. It’s possible that it is the best start to the season of my career but the past few years have also been very good.”

The star of Portugal and Real Madrid is also building a museum based on him which will be made in the place where he grew up and initiated his football career, Funchal. The opening day is scheduled to be on December 16th as the player wants to use the museum as a place to store all the memorabilia and stuff he collects as he travels around the world.

The museum will include all sorts of artefacts from his days as a Manchester United player.

When asked about what he thinks of the upcoming 2013 Ballon d’Or, Ronaldo said that he has already reserved a space for the trophy.

HATRICK HERO

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick playing for Portugal in the World Cup qualifying game against Northern Ireland last month. With those 3 goals, he became the highest goal scorer for his country. He broke the record of the former Benfica forward Eusebio.

Ronaldo has now got 43 goals in 106 international games, while, Eusebio had found the net 41 times in his 64 appearances for Portugal.

Now, a new discussion has started in Portugal about the best player the country has produced so far. Some are saying that it’s Ronaldo, while, some believe its Eusebio.

According to some reports, the comparison with Ronaldo has upset Eusebio. He thinks it’s unfair to compare him with Ronaldo as he scored his 41 goals in fewer matches.

But, Ronaldo thinks that the 71 years old legend shouldn’t get upset by this comparison as records are made just to get broken.

When the Real Madrid striker was asked about Eusebio being unhappy to be compared with him, he said, “I don’t think he should get upset. The records get broken at some point of time.”

“Two players get compared with each other when one breaks the other’s record. It’s not something which one should be sad about. Eusebio’s name will always be at the top of the tree.”

Ronaldo also said that he wants to keep creating history in the game. The 28 years Old Portuguese international said, “My target is to make 100 more appearances for my country.”

Ronaldo is not too far away from becoming the most capped Portuguese player. He just needs to make 22 more international appearances and he will hold that record.

Currently, the player who has played the most no. of matches for Portugal is Luis Figo. He made 127 appearances for his country.

United negotiating deal

Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Real Madrid over the stunning transfer of club legend Cristiano Ronaldo this summer as the club officials want to hand a marquee signing to new manager David Moyes as he readies for his first season in charge of the club as replacement of Sir Alex Ferguson.

According to an English daily which has reported the exclusive news, Real Madrid’s power brokers have gradually opened up to the idea of selling their prized asset after growing frustrated with the player’s reluctance to sign a new deal at the club that will see him renew his contract beyond 2015. Former Real Madrid president has also opened up about the possibility that the club’s pursuit of Gareth Bale is due to the Portuguese winger’s reluctance to pen a new deal as he wants a return to his former club.

The English daily also reported that United and Real have been in discussions about the stunning deal for the last twelve days and they are nearing a breakthrough in negotiations. If the deal does goes through in the end, the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo will provide the perfect start to life as the Manchester United boss for David Moyes and he knows a fan favorite will also give him time to make his mark at the club.

United have been openly pursuing Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona and that has given them the chance to negotiate a deal to bring Ronaldo back without any fuss in the background. Carlo Ancelotti, the new Real Madrid manager has also given up hope of holding on to Cristiano Ronaldo and has asked the club to secure the signing of Javier Hernandez in exchange for Ronaldo, a proposition that would intrigue United officials who are putting together a whopping package for the Portuguese.
